Tjo po er.
Någon som testkört denna vackra disten av linux, testkör lite för tillfället. Bygger på UBUNTU men inte lika religiöst tänkande utan de har matat in en del matnyttigt som inte är öppen källkod Så de har lagt in en del extra repositories som inte finns med när man installerar ubuntu (i sitt original utförande), under paket hanterarererereerereren.

Så det är anpassat för n00bs som mig, dvs alla plugins (java-flash osv) för firefox är på plats, samt codecs för film å ljud.
Samt en del annat är anpassat så man snabbt känner igen sig som windowsanvändare..

Fräckt är det iallafall...

Wine emulationen fungerar fruktansvärt bra iallafall.. kör en del windowsapps... En del spel ska påstås sig fungera åxå.. bara provat mindre win-spel som funkade iallafall..

Fräckt var att man kunde installera det i windows, skapar inga partitioner utan man får en mapp med skitet i som sedan man bootar in i efter omstart. Slipper man klödda med partitioner. Lite som Wuby för ubuntu.

Förhoppningen är att skapa en nice server för att rulla xbox mediacenter på samt lite torrents å administrera denna via olika skrivbord eller inlogg så att xbmc alltid är aktivt på ett skrivbord som portas till tvn så remotar man in till delen där allt annat gott är =) eller nåed.
aaah vet inte. Låter det kul tro? undras om det är möjligt? Gud vet kanske? eller linuxtomten?

Ska du ha en media station så funkar ju ps3 riktigt bra till det jag streamr 1080p filmer från datorn till ps3an.

Eller har du VOB filer... streamar du 1080p mkv filer eller annat ps3an inte kan läsa själv så du transcodar?

jag kör ps3 media server och det tycker jag funkar kanon.

japp ps3 mediaserver transcodar innan den skickar =)
det tar ju lite data kraft att göra det så den är inte specielt snabb om man ska göra något på den sammtidigt men det ska man ju nte för då ska man ju kolla film =)

Transcodar jag utan att tappa bildkvalle så hackar nog mitt smeck litta och lagg med ljudet vill jag minnas.
Testade mot en xp maskin, 2.4Ghz DC. Båda mediacenter-progsen...

man kan ju coda om dom innan man skickar om man nu har tid till det, men det tar ganska långt tid har jag för mig.

Jag har testat med mitt system att skicka en 1080p film till ps3 och transcoda den i lossless format och det funkade. Laggar inget =)

jag har en cor2duo E8400 och 4 gig i ram

Jag funderade också på att köpa en popcorn men jag ville ha en konsoll först så när jag fick se att det funkade fint med ps3 media server så blev man rätt glad, så man sparade ett par tusen lappar.
